When I tested the original Arc'teryx Sylan, I had mixed feelings. The midfoot rocker felt a little unusual and it didn’t work particularly well for my overpronation. It wasn’t a bad shoe, but it never quite clicked for me on the trail.

With the Sylan 2, Arc'teryx appears to have refined the design. After several runs, the ride feels smoother and more natural, and overall the shoe runs noticeably better than the original.
